The wine is made from older grapevines (25+ years) and composed of 80% Merlot, with 20% of Cabernet Franc. It is aged 30% in new barrels, 30% in second fill barrels, rest in tanks for 16 months. The wine is a deep dark black ruby revealing youthful hints of purple on the rim. It has an integrated nose of currant fruit, plum and oak with liquorice accents. Medium to full bodied, it is soft, full with solid core ripe juicy fruit backed by firm tannins on a solid finish.
Color: Dark ruby in colour.
Aroma: Aromas of wood, notes of red berries and raspberry.
Palate: Good acidity, firm tannins, flavors of cassis, spices and wood, a broad texture, intense finish.
Food Pairing: Drink with grilled meat, and french cheese. Chinese steamed lobster with garlic and ginger, Japanese sushi, shellfish and shrimp served with soyu and wasabi, Korean banchan.
Alcohol Percentage: 14%
